Foxdenton JV secures latest tranche of homes

FO Developments has progressed plans for its £100m Broadway Green scheme, the mixed-use redevelopment of a 121-acre site in Chadderton, following the approval of 160 homes. 

The affordable housing development is to be constructed on a 15-acre plot currently occupied by Matthew Fold Farm, which falls within the wider strategic site in Foxdenton.

The scheme comprises 34 two-bedroom homes, 96 three-bedroom properties, and a further 30 with four bedrooms. 

FO Developments, a joint venture comprised of Seddon Developments, Grasscroft Developments and Oldham Council, is to make a £500,000 contribution to education in the local area under the terms of the planning permission.

In 2014, the joint venture won outline consent for 700,000 sq ft of warehouses and offices, up to 500 new homes, and a 25-acre linear park on the site, located off the A663 west of Oldham town centre. 

A £12.5m link road, Lydia Becker Way, has been constructed to the north of the site. 

Elsewhere at Broadway Green, housebuilder Redrow is delivering the 100-home Fox Meadows development, while Countryside won consent for 137 homes known as Radclyffe Gardens, in 2019. 

Earlier this year, Rula Developments announced it was readying plans for a 367,000 sq ft industrial unit at the site, having acquired a plot from FO Developments.

TPM Landscape is the landscape architect for the project and Avison Young is the planning consultant. 5plus Architects developed the masterplan for Broadway Green.
