Caro Developments has appointed architect Falconer Chester Hall to design a residential scheme for a site the developer bought in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle last month.
Liverpool-based Caro bought the 1.7-acre site on Brassey Street out of receivership for £1.5m.
Although the plot has extant consent for 174 apartments, granted to developer Eloquent Global in 2018, Caro intends draw up fresh designs for the site.
Architect Studio RBA designed Eloquent’s scheme.
A planning application for the project is being worked up and a start on site is expected early next year, according to Caro’s managing director Neil Carlyle.
“This is a key appointment and the project team is now taking shape. We’re in discussions with other key professionals but are already progressing with our thoughts on the project design,” Carlyle added.
Alastair Shepherd, director at Falconer Chester Hall, said: “The scheme sits at the interface between the higher density of the Baltic and the more suburban townscape to the south and east and how we unite the two in design terms will be a key measure of the scheme’s success.”
Zerum is the planning consultant for the project.
Elsewhere in the city, Caro is delivering its 127-apartment Poet’s Place residential development on Great Homer Street. Completion of the scheme, being built by the main contractor Newry Construction, is expected in May 2021.
