The Cassidy + Ashton-designed commercial building is the new headquarters for carbon fibre components maker Multi-ply.
Eric Wright Construction finished the £8m building on time and on budget.
Multi-ply will use its HQ to bring together staff from three other sites in Lancashire. Multi-ply signed a 25-year lease for Nexus.
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive the keys to our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility,” said Multi-ply managing director Darren Dowdall. “This strategic investment has been core to our long-term growth strategy that enables us to rapidly scale our manufacturing capabilities so we can simultaneously expand our rapidly growing customer base.”
Stephen Knowles, special projects manager for Eric Wright Construction said: “Despite the challenging working environment over the last twelve months, the team has dug deep to complete this superb new facility as planned, something of which we are extremely proud. We have a longstanding relationship with Blackpool, having delivered in excess of £130m of construction projects in the town in the last decade and we are absolutely delighted to add this superb new facility to our list of major commercial, community and infrastructure projects.”
Nexus is part of phase one of Blackpool Council’s plans for the 356-acre Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone, which will boast a sports village and 1m sq ft of industrial space when complete.
