Egremont Castle winner revealed

Swiss firm Décosterd-Cotting Architects has been selected to design a new performance pavilion in Egremont Castle, Cumbria.

The practice won a RIBA competition to design a flexible cover within the ruined castle wall, which can be raised and lowered for public performance events and removed when not in use.

The contest was promoted by community arts group Grizedale Arts and is part of the Creative Egremont public art strategy. The winning scheme will now be put forward for funding as part of the Egremont and Area Regeneration Strategy led by West Lakes Renaissance.
