Mitchell is head of the office and regional managing director; Bishop specialises in office agency; Downes works in asset management and Poizer heads the investment team.

In a statement, DTZ said the "appointments to this position are determined according to rigorous criteria and endorsed by DTZ's group executive committee."

Paul Idzik, DTZ group chief executive, said: "As a company with a stated commitment to recruiting and retaining the best talent in the business, it is imperative that we are able to recognise and reward our best performers. We are therefore delighted to acknowledge, through these appointments to the new senior director position, the value that we place upon and receive from these key contributors to our business growth. These appointments are very well deserved; moreover, the knowledge, drive and commitment of these exceptional individuals will play a significant part in shaping our future success."

The company declined to say if the promotions came with added remuneration.
