DevSecs names FD successor

Development Securities, which owns Manchester Arena and is developing a Booths store in Hale Barns, has recruited Aviva Investors' Marcus Shepherd as its next finance director.

Marcus Shepherd will join the business following handover of his current post and succeed Graham Prothero, will join Galliford Try as group finance director at a date to be confirmed.
A further announcement will be made in due course advising the date when Shepherd will join the board of DevSecs.

Shepherd has been finance director of global real estate at Aviva Investors since January 2009. Previously, he was chief financial officer Europe for Valad Property Group for two years, having joined via the acquisition of Teesland where he was group finance director. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a BSc in Mathematics from Imperial College.

Michael Marx, chief executive, Development Securities, said: "Marcus brings considerable financial experience in the property and investment management industries as well as relevant experience within the quoted real estate sector."
