Galliford Try Partnerships has agreed a partnership with Homes England to deliver 230 houses and a 100-bedroom retirement scheme in Sandymoor, Runcorn.
Under the deal, Galliford Try will build a mix of 230 two, three, and four-bed family homes to be sold on the open market, while the retirement project will be built on behalf of registered provider Halton Housing.
The proposals are for a plot to the east of Village Street, which will link two existing residential developments to the north and south. These have been delivered by David Wilson Homes and Morris Homes in the last decade; development of the Sandymoor site began in the 1980s.
Galliford Try will use modular construction methods on the homes across the site, allowing the first of these to be ready for occupation in 2020, subject to planning. The project is set to complete in late 2024, and a planning application is expected to be submitted next month.
Paul Mullane, Halton Housing’s director of development and growth said: “This will be our third extra care scheme following the development of our hugely successful Barkla Fields and Naughton Fields schemes. The project will not only deliver new homes, but also jobs and other opportunities for the community of Sandymoor.”
