Co-op bank signs five-year deal with Payzone

The Co-operative Bank has today announced its public sector banking division has signed a new five-year deal with Payzone.

Under the new agreement, around 650 local authorities, housing associations and credit unions will be able to access the Payzone network through an agreement for payment services with the Manchester-based bank.

This will offer consumers the added convenience of paying their council tax, housing rents and other sundry payments at more than 18,000 Payzone outlets – taking the total number of outlets available to the bank's customers to more than 50,000.

Linda Cook, bill payments director at Payzone, said: "This is great news for all UK Local Authorities and Housing Associations who can now offer residents more convenient payment options. Customers will find paying bills at local stores more convenient and aligned with their everyday lives, as they can now pay at the same time as buying a paper, topping up their gas, electricity or mobile phone."
