Christie & Co instructed on Free Trade Hall

The hospitality business advisor has been appointed to market Manchester's iconic building on behalf of administrators.

Lloyds Banking Group appointed Matt Dunham and Les Ross of Grant Thornton UK LLP as joint administrative receivers of Free Trade Hall Hotel in August.

Free Trade Hall Hotel held a long leasehold interest in the property that houses the 263-bedroom Radisson Edwardian Hotel.

Christie & Co said the offering comes with a long-term management contract in place with Radisson Edwardian Group, which will continue to ensure service levels at the hotel.

Jeremy Jones, director of corporate hotels at Christie & Co, said: "With its unique history, fantastic central Manchester location and its luxurious facilities, the Radisson Edwardian represents a unique opportunity to acquire one of the city's finest hotels, located directly opposite the Manchester Central. We expect there to be significant interest from a variety of local and national investors. Radisson Edwardian continues to manage this profitable and robust business and there will be no disruption to guest services or staff as a result of the sales process."
