Charity relocates to Blantyre’s City Gate

Blantyre Developments has sold an office suite at its mixed-use scheme, City Gate, in Manchester's Castlefield area.

After Adoption, the Manchester-based children's charity, has bought 5,700 sq ft on the ground floor commercial element of the residential building, which stands at the fringe of the city centre fronting the Mancunian Way close to its junction with the A56 Chester Road. After Adoption has relocated from Salford, having outgrown its former premises with current staff numbers now over 100.

Lynn Charlton, chief executive of After Adoption, commented: "City Gate's location ticks every box for us. It is vital that After Adoption sustains a high profile position in the city and together with our ground floor position in the building we are an open, easily accessible organisation. The office move will allow us to grow and improve our services, making the building purchase an easy choice to make."

David Laws of Edwards & Co, advising Blantyre, added: "We're pleased we could accommodate After Adoption's criteria and provide them with a high profile position that enabled them to undertake a bespoke fit out of the space. City Gate is a very visible development and their commitment to the location is welcomed."

Additional space is available in suites from 1,000 sq ft up to 5,000 sq ft either leasehold or freehold.
