Capita acquires Multi-Tech Contracts

Consultant Capita Symonds has announced the acquisition of engineering consultancy Multi-Tech Contracts for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition, which is Capita Symonds' sixth in the last 20 months, enables the company to further expand its offering in the process engineering sector.

Andrew Murray, Capita Symonds' chief operating officer, said: "This is our third acquisition of the year and emphasises our commitment to constantly develop key parts of our business by bringing market-leading companies into the Capita Symonds fold."

Multi-Tech has offices in Warrington, Bridgend, Birmingham and Edinburgh, and employs over 150 staff specialising in engineering, design and project management services to the chemical, food, petrochemical, energy, recycling and pharmaceutical sectors.

Clients include National Grid, Northern Gas Networks, Scotia Gas, Wales and West Utilities, and Cargill.

Multi-Tech was advised on the transaction by Manchester-based chartered accountants CLB Coopers and the Manchester office of law firm Mace & Jones.
