Burgess leaves Willmotts for Seddon
Phil Burgess, previously business development manager at Willmott Dixon, has joined Seddon Construction in Bolton as head of business development and marketing.
Burgess spent four years at Willmott Dixon, which has its regional office in Oldham. He previously worked for Taylor Woodrow Construction and Wates.
Seddon is a family-owned and managed development, house building, construction, and maintenance business with a track record spanning 115 years and five generations of the Seddon family.
The company employs close to 1,000 people, including direct trades and apprentices, with a turnover close to £200m across the UK.
Burgess said: "Despite the challenges faced by the construction sector over the past few years, Seddon has both retained its traditional family values and at the same time planned for the future, leaving the company in a superb position to continue to grow in a recovering market."
Seddon managing director Jonathan Seddon said: "Phil has an impressive track record of securing business opportunities in the public and private sectors, winning major frameworks, development-led schemes, regeneration projects and specialist public services schemes. I'm delighted to have attracted someone of his calibre to join us and drive our business development and marketing strategy at this key time for the business."
