Bardsley on site at Barton

Bardsley Construction has secured a £3.5m contract with City West Housing Trust to build 35 housing units in a three phase programme as part of the Barton Village regeneration in Salford.

The 35 new affordable homes were designed by architect Halsall Lloyd Partnership.

Construction work has begun on phase one with 12 two-storey townhouses for shared ownership. Phase two involves eight one- and two-bed apartments for affordable rent, while the third phase planned to start later in the summer will see the creation of 15 units with a mix of townhouses and one- and two-bed apartments.

Bardsley Construction, based in Dukinfield, is due to complete the first and second phases of the Barton Village regeneration in January 2016, with phase three to be completed later that year.

This project continues a long standing relationship between Bardsley and City West, following the delivery of a £13.2m contract in 2014 to provide 73 affordable family homes, five bungalows for older people and an extra care scheme to accommodate more than 70 residents at Amblecote Drive, Little Hulton. Bardsley is currently on site completing the third phase at Amblecote providing a further 35 affordable housing units.
