Baker buys site for 200,000 sq ft expansion
The Village Bakery Group, one of the fastest growing companies in Wales, has acquired a strategic development site on Wrexham Industrial Estate to facilitate further growth.
The site on Ash Road extends to 16 acres and is capable of accommodating a single building of up to 200,000 sq ft.
The Village Bakery Group already have three production facilities in Wrexham, two of which are on Wrexham Industrial Estate and have just started the construction of a new product development centre on the Estate.
The site was sold on behalf of Chester Halo ltd by Legat Owen's Business Space team.
Stephen Wade, director of Legat Owen, said: "We were asked to advise Chester Halo on the sale of the site and had envisaged breaking it up in to three or four plots. We were aware that the Village Bakery were looking at alternative plans for expansion and we highlighted the opportunity to them before the site went to the market. All credit to Christien Jones and his fellow directors at Village Bakery Group as they moved very quickly to secure the opportunity completing the purchase within two weeks of agreeing the deal."
Village Bakery will now progress their plans for the development of the site following completion of their product development centre.
