Renewable bioenergy and carbon reduction specialist Fleetsolve is to expand by moving to a 24,500 sq ft unit at Riverview Business Park in Bromborough.

The business said it will look to triple its workforce with the creation of an additional 70 jobs over the next six months. Legat Owen advised on the deal.

Fleetsolve, part of the SIMEC Group, announced its new recruitment drive as part of a £150m growth plan over the next three years as demand for zero-carbon power generation technology climbs.

The Wirral site comes in addition to five UK-wide operational centres in Scotland, the North East, South Wales, the Midlands, and London. Fleetsolve is currently based in Neston.

Fleetsolve specialises in the design, manufacture and operation of liquid biofuel combined heat and power (CHP) units. The units are fuelled using a range of biofuels produced from end of waste liquids – such as oils, fats and greases – to create a renewable fuel, to power a zero-carbon on-site power solution that can exceed the clients carbon reduction targets.

The units generate renewable electricity, heat and when required cooling simultaneously to all energy needs of a modern building or industrial process providing the user with Ofgem compliant renewable energy at a competitive pence per kilowatt rate.

Clients include Tesco, multiple NHS hospitals, chemical manufacturing plants, hotels, conferencing centres, prisons, schools and universities including the London School of Economics and The University of Nottingham.

In keeping with the company’s ethos, the new Wirral HQ is being transformed into a carbon zero site using a combination of energy reduction and low carbon generation ready for the move in January.

Keith O’Connor, chief executive of Fleetsolve, said: “Our expansion is only the beginning.

“Even amid the pandemic, time is of the essence in tackling carbon reduction and global warming. Our vision for business sustainability is clear. We are driven to help large UK organisations in both the private and public sectors to meet and exceed their targets for a carbon-zero future. This includes creating local, sustainable jobs in the industry for future generations.

“It’s an ambitious vision and our aim is to attract the best talent to help us take it forward. We are recruiting for various roles but it’s important that candidates are eager to be part of a green future which Fleetsolve is spearheading.”
