Alliance’s Wigan industrial estate fully let

Manchester-based Property Alliance Group today said its Enfield Industrial Estate in Wigan is now fully occupied within 12 months of acquisition.

The former Transbus premises, totalling 122,000 sq ft, was acquired by Property Alliance Group in spring 2008 and subsequently refurbished into industrial and trade counter accommodation. The revamp was completed two months ago.

Prior to completion, Alliance, aided by joint marketing agents CBRE and Littler & Associates, sold 58,300 sq ft to VizWear, a high visibility clothing company. It also let 53,400 sq ft to Enviro Pax, a local food packaging company at a rent of £4.25/sq ft. The final unit, a trade counter of 10,800 sq ft, was let to Pro Care Shower and Bathroom Centre at £5.80/sq ft.

Oliver Moorhouse of Property Alliance Group, commented: When we acquired the site it had been vacant for over four years and had become something of an eyesore and a nuisance for the local residents.

"With the help of the local planning authority and NWDA's Regeneration Fund we have completely regenerated a redundant facility to create modern, business and trade counter units which offer progressive Wigan-based companies the opportunity to grow within the borough, creating and consolidating local jobs in these difficult times. The level and speed of the deals we've concluded are testament to the quality of the space and the hard work of the marketing agents."
