A380 Manchester-Dubai service still flying

Manchester Airport said its Emirates A380 Airbus superjumbo is still flying after the airline Qantas grounded its entire fleet following serious engine failure on Wednesday night.

A 517-seat A380 aircraft is used to operate one of Emirates' two daily flights from Manchester to Dubai and the airport confirmed the service is due to land in Manchester at 1.30pm on Thursday.

A Qantas A380 was bound for Sydney and had to make an emergency landing in Singapore shortly after take off following an explosion to one of its engines.

Singapore Airlines told passengers at Heathrow to expect delays after grounding its A380 aircrafts on Thursday morning to allow engineers to carry out inspections.
