MIPIM VIDEO | What next for Caddick?

The construction firm’s managing director Paul Dodsworth chatted to Place North West about its expansion plans, thriving in a volatile market, and why the company is going to MIPIM 2025.

Caddick Construction has recently opened an office in Durham and is seeking further growth in the Midlands, Dodsworth explained.

“Becoming a major player in Birmingham is important to us,” he said. “In terms of the North East, there is a void. A number of contractors have gone out of business and there is an opportunity for a financially strong business like Caddick to move into the area.”

Dodsworth is keen to take advantage of the company’s robust balance sheet and “flat structure” to ramp up its growth aspirations in a tricky market.

“We are in a turbulent world. Our clients, customers and supply chain are looking at the financial standing of businesses. Everybody wants the contractor to be there at the end [of a project].”

At MIPIM, Dodsworth is hoping to forge new relationships with both public and private sector partners.

“Going to MIPIM is an opportunity to touch base with an awful lot of people,” he said.
