Liverpool healthcare consultants launch new venture
Mechanical and electrical consultants Mercury and architects Mersey Design Group have joined forces to launch a new company called HVS, Hospital Validation Services.
HVS will offer validation and verification services of critical healthcare ventilation systems including theatres and isolation facilities to assist healthcare clients with their annual duties under health and safety regulations HTM 03 Parts A&B.
Under these duties "all critical ventilation systems should be verified at least annually to ensure that the system remains fit for purpose".
The increased risks to patients have previously been documented if ventilation systems do not achieve and maintain the required standards.
Jon Parr, director and HTM 03 approved person for HVS said: "Drawing on over 25 years' combined healthcare experience of Mercury Consulting Engineers and Mersey Design Group, HVS understand the constraints of working in critical care areas and the minimal downtime often afforded. As such we are able to tailor our services accordingly and provide a clear and concise report identifying system performance, any shortfalls in respect of compliance and recommendation to address these. In addition HVS can offer a turnkey approach from initial survey to completion of any remedial work to the ventilation system in its entirety and also encompassing building fabric and finishes."
