L&G continues Greater Manchester homes drive
The investor’s affordable homes division has added to its growing pipeline in the city region with deals in Salford and Oldham totaling 264 homes.
Legal & General Affordable Homes has struck a pair of deals with English Cities Fund and Muse, according to a report the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
The report names LGAH as the recipient of grant funding from the GMCA for schemes in Salford and Oldham, replacing ECF and Muse, which are developing the projects.
In Salford, LGAH will manage the 189-apartment final residential phase at New Bailey, which was granted planning consent last year. The scheme would offer a mix of affordable and social rent flats and will benefit from a £5.67m grant from the GMCA.
In Oldham, LGAH will manage the 75-home first phase of Prince’s Gate, part of a wider 331-home scheme next to Oldham Mumps Metrolink. 100% of these homes would be available for social rent and the project will benefit from a £9.9m grant from the GMCA, the report states.
Elsewhere, LGAH recently agreed a deal with Westchurch Homes to acquire a 133-home project in Bolton and was selected by Manchester Housing Providers Partnership as the preferred developer for 369 homes across three publicly-owned sites in Charlestown, Levenshulme, and Moss Side.
