Lettings agreed at Boat Shed
Tenants have taken 11,750 sq ft of space and a further 2,000 sq ft under offer at Urban Splash’s Boat Shed, formerly known as Office Village, the 46,000 sq ft waterfront office complex at Salford Quays.
Splash bought the 90s office for more than the £4m asking price in August 2016 and instructed architect R2A to design an overhaul of the building.
Four office suites of varying size have been refurbished, with the first 2,760 sq ft suite completed being taken by Environmental Services Design earlier this year.
Among the deals is a 595 sq ft letting to Lupo. The Italian coffee house is relocating from Chapel Street in the city centre. Other lettings have been agreed with the Training Room, Consumer Reclaim, and Care UK. Collectively these businesses have taken almost 9,285 sq ft at the scheme. Existing tenant Lebara has renewed its lease and a further unit is under offer.
Urban Splash commercial manager Nicky Harries said: “I’m really pleased to welcome these new tenants into our portfolio. In typical Urban Splash manner, they each hail from a range of industries, helping us create a diverse and interesting community at Boat Shed.
“The scheme is in a brilliant location – with Salford Quays having transformed into one of the North West’s most appealing commercial districts in recent years. I’m really looking forward to finalising more of the space we currently have under offer.”
The building was launched to 50 of the North West’s office agents earlier this month, each of whom was given a tour of the redesigned spaces, and sent home with a #BoatShed branded remote-controlled speedboat.
