Land Registry data suggests house prices flattening
The latest figures from Land Registry show a slight fall in house prices in the North West in June.
Prices in the region fell 0.9%, down 13.5% year on year, to an average of £115,440. Across England and Wales, five out of the ten regions showed increases, the greatest being London with a 2% bounce, to an average of £301,859. The other five regions continued to fall, the worst being Yorkshire and the Humber, down 1.2%.
The overall June increase of 0.1% is the first time the monthly change has been positive since January 2008. The annual drop of 14% took the average house price to £153,046.
