Kier lined up for £22m Stockport business park
The contractor has entered into a PCSA to deliver six light industrial units totalling 115,000 sq ft on seven acres off Bird Hall Lane in Cheadle.
Subject to securing the full £22m contract, Kier Construction will build units ranging in size from 10,000 sq to 40,000 sq ft for Stockport Council, which is developing the Cheadle Eco Park in collaboration with Network Space.
The scheme is supported by £4.4m of Stockport’s £13m Town Fund award.
Designed by Aew Architects, the project would see three units built on an underutilized site close to Junction 2 of the M60.
Stockport Council is targeting a BREEAM ‘outstanding’ or ‘excellent’ certificate for Cheadle Eco Park, which it hopes will be an “environmentally exemplar development”.
Kier was procured through the Procurement Partnerships Framework and secured the contract ahead of underbidder Galliford Try.
