Kier appoints group finance director
Rachel Warren will help lead the main contractor and developer’s financial shared service centre, alongside fellow group finance director Basil Mendonca and chief finance officer Tom Hinton.
Warren has joined Kier from Michelmersh Brick Holdings, where she was the chief financial officer. She has close to 30 years of experience in finance, with past roles at British Airways, Wincanton, Sage, and Aer Lingus.
Hinton praised Warren’s hire.
“Rachel is a fantastic financial leader who has decades of experience in transforming complex, operational businesses,” he said.
“She combines deep technical expertise with a practical, commercial mindset, and I’m really pleased to welcome her to the team. I know she’ll play a key role in supporting our next phase of growth.”
For her part, Warren said: “I am delighted to be joining Kier at such an exciting time for the organisation. With long-term investment in UK infrastructure, I see a wealth of opportunity and I am looking forward to supporting the group’s ambitious plans.”
Warren’s hire follows a series of strategic appointments from the Salford-headquartered Kier, including Samantha Coughlan as chief information officer and Niki Steel as chief human resources officer.
Kier reported more than £2bn in revenue as part of its most recent half-year results. The group is hard at work on a series of North West projects, including its £26m Trade & Logistic City Sharston and the much-anticipated One Pall Mall office in Liverpool. The contractor also won a spot no the government’s Hospital 2.0 Framework earlier this year.
