Kammac takes 85,700 sq ft Preston warehouse

It is the second expansion this month for the Skelmersdale-based third-party logistics provider, which signed for a 205,000 sq ft unit in St Helens a few weeks before.

The Preston warehouse is located in the Walton Summit industrial estate, which sits off Four Oaks Road and is less than a mile away from the intersection of the M6, M61 and M65. Kammac’s new neighbours include Parcelforce, Yodel and James Fisher Nuclear.

Kammac’s lease for the 87,757 sq ft Walton Summit unit is for ten years and £5.50/sq ft. The space had previously been occupied by Panther Logistics.

B8 Real Estate and Knight Frank advised the unnamed landlord on the deal. Andrew Littler of Littler and Associates acted for Kammac.

’Walton Summit is a popular location with an established, long-standing occupier base,” said B8’s Will Kenyon.

“Given the low turnover and the lack of availability in the wider Preston area, the unit attracted very strong interest from the outset,” Kenyon continued. ”As the existing tenant surrendered the lease early to facilitate the deal, there was no void period which is further evidence of strong levels of demand we are seeing.’’

This is the ninth location for Kammac, which also has locations in Runcorn, Knowsley and Wavertree.
