Quantity surveyor required for £150m Salford Uni project

University of Salford has published a tender for a quantity surveying contract for the first phase of its £575m estates master plan.

The selected tender will help provide full cost management services through to project completion on the £150m first phase.

The university plans to refresh its Adelphi Building with a new £30m school of music, media and performance and refurbish its Chapman Building, costing £4.5m, which can be used as a venue for arts and cultural activities.

Plans also include at least five new buildings, the tallest up to 12 storeys, refurbishment of remaining premises, 2,000 new bed spaces and a hotel and conference centre.

Last month, Manchester and Liverpool-based consultant Davis Langdon was appointed by the university to project manage the first phase.

Deadline for submitting tenders is Monday 5 October.
