What broadband does your new build home have?

Housing broadband

It never ceases to amaze me how many people are still paying a high price for an average broadband connection that still at peak times delivers a slow service – why? Us British are too nice. We wouldn’t put up with flickering lights from our electricity company.

Some things never change

Housebuilders today are under more pressure than ever before to sell more homes, make more money, do it faster, cheaper, with quality where you can.

It also appears from conversations we have had with some large housebuilders that they are not interested in offering anything more than what they are already used to, which is Openreach. Why? This is so short sighted when there are much better and more affordable services out there in the market. This isn’t in their resident’s best interests.

It’s what they have always done, it’s what they know – “why change unless I am told too from up above” goes the mantra.

Many housebuilders are not interested in connectivity unless someone shouts loud enough, be that residents or executives within the company itself. Maybe it’s because they don’t understand the internet companies they deal with, the technology itself, they just don’t have the time, or a mixture of all three.

Why should you change?

According to a recent consultation by the Government ‘New build developments: delivering gigabit capable connections’ Julia Lopez, Minister for Media, Data & Digital Infrastructure believes that gigabit-capable connectivity is critical to the economy and to our way of life. We have heard it said that to people in the home, it’s a human right which brings in another moral dimension in itself.

The consultation goes on to say that the Covid-19 pandemic has further highlighted the crucial role that connectivity plays in our lives, supporting huge increases in online interaction, remote working and entertainment.

If we are going to be operating a hybrid-style life from hereon in, a decent connection that we can afford is crucial to the economy, our families, our wellbeing and our finances. Utility costs are on the increase by 30-50% I am hearing, so all the pennies count.

So there are many reasons why housebuilders should change: a better product offering, to sell your homes faster, stay ahead of your competition, service your customers better, give your residents a more affordable service and more choice (this does not cost you any more) and an overall better moving in experience.

Don’t get left behind

Why not be seen as a forward-thinking company? Be seen to be helping people in tough times. Don’t just follow what has always been. Look what happened to Kodak; they weren’t too big to fail. Embrace new technology.

Explore the market – there are other better options out there.

At ClearFibre, we are just one of a handful of ‘alt-nets’ (an alternative option to the big four connectivity providers) that are delivering some of the best technology the market has ever seen – genuine full fibre services with guaranteed service speeds at prices that are affordable. Our services are free to install in your homes that you sell, so there are no excuses not to provide better options for residents.

Our customers do not have to sign a long term contracts, that’s how confident we are in our services, but they get a better price if they do. We have over 180 years of combined experience in the IT and communications industry in both the commercial and residential sector. Please take advantage of our knowledge and get in touch with us. We have clients you can talk with too.
