Housing trust enters private market

Trafford Housing Trust has been granted planning permission for four new homes of between 1,500 and 1,800 sq ft apiece at Arcon Place, Altrincham as part of its first development for private sale, designed by Sixtwo Architects.

The Trust has traditionally delivered affordable housing across the borough. The 0.6-acre site backs onto the Bridgewater Canal and is a test development for the Trust's strategy of releasing funds for affordable housing schemes.

The scheme was described by the planning committee as "innovative and intelligent" in response to how the four homes relate to the adjacent canal.

Work will begin on site at the end of the summer.
