Hilson Moran bolsters Northern directorate

Andrew Smith has joined the environmental engineering consultancy’s Manchester office as a design director to spearhead its growth plan for the region.

Smith has 30 years of experience in the built environment, having worked as the managing director at First Citi CONSULT and as European construction manager at Warner Bros Entertainment. His past projects have included Kingsway Retail Park in Rochdale and Etihad Airways’ headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

At Hilson Moran, Smith will focus on expanding its Northern portfolio of work, growing its list of client partners, and furthering connections with other consultancies.

“I am excited to lead Hilson Moran’s efforts in the North, building on our strong foundations and advancing our commitment to net zero carbon design solutions,” Smith said.

“I strongly believe that by embedding sustainable practices within engineering solutions from the outset, we can foster accountability and help our clients achieve their environmental goals more effectively.”

In addition to its Manchester office, Hilson Moran has workspaces in London, Farnborough, Cambridge, and Qatar. Its current and recent projects in the North West include Manchester City Council’s 4,500-home Holt Town masterplan, ECF and St Helens Council’s refurbishment of Earlestown Town Hall, and the £56m Steelworks in Warrington.
