Gilbanks appoints designer for 34,000 sq ft St Michael’s office
Ekho Studio is crafting the interiors for the flexible workspace provider’s second Manchester site.
Gilbanks signed for 34,000 sq ft at Relentless and KKR’s 180,000 sq ft No1 St Michael’s in April, joining Pinsent Masons, Hill Dickinson, and S&P Global in the building.
The site is the firm’s second in Manchester after taking 22,000 sq ft at Aviva’s 11 York Street in 2022.
With the ink now dry on the St Michael’s deal, Gilbanks has drafted in Ekho to design a space for “professional businesses that require a dynamic and productive workspace”.
Sarah Dodworth, co-founder of Ekho Studio, said: “Gilbanks brought a clear vision for the project that was centred around providing a world-class office environment that supported productivity and workers welfare.

Alex Duckett, managing director of Gilbanks, said Ekho was appointed following a “rigorous international search”.
“Ekho Studio brought a collaborative and creative approach to meeting the brief and has created a workspace that sets a new standard for flexible workspace,” he said.
Jones Hargreaves is the project manager for the scheme.
The office element of St Michael’s is filling up fast and is expected to complete later this year.
The second phase of the scheme will feature the five-star, 162-bed W Hotel and 217 W branded residences in a 40-storey tower.
