Georgian terrace refurb completed in Canning
Elliot Group has completed the £3.2m refurbishment of a listed Georgian terrace in Liverpool’s Canning neighbourhood.
The nine properties, which form an L-shape along Percy Street and Upper Parliament Street, have been empty since 2008 when they were last occupied as bedsits. They were sold by Liverpool City Council to Elliot Group in 2016 with a stipulation that as many as possible were returned to single family homes.
Architect Falconer Chester Hall and local contractor Newry Construction worked on the refurbishment.
Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group said: “They’re beautiful homes, with well-proportioned spaces and high ceilings. Percy Street is a real gem within the Conservation Area and it’s a pleasure to bring them back to life.”
The homes fronting Upper Parliament Street have been converted into apartments for rent, with the properties on Percy Street to be sold as single homes.
City Residential has been appointed as sales agent for the homes.
Percy Street is one of the Georgian Quarter’s most beautiful streets.. The Falkner Street conversions, to singles family homes, have been very successful. This is a natural extension of this and gives greater choice for people to remain in the city centre. Much of the rest of Percy Street would be ideal for similar reconversions.

Great giving more families the opportunity to stay central. There’s three good schools in the city centre, two are walking distance from these houses, one rated outstanding..plus belvedere prep is less than a ten minute drive away..makes sense.

What about retaining the fan-lights above the doors? These are typical Georgian characteristics, and the buildings are listed.
