First 400 Peel Hall homes granted go-ahead

Warrington Council’s planning committee followed recommendations to approve plans for 27 acres of public open space, which features as part of a much wider area masterplan for 1,200 homes.

Countryside Partnerships, part of Vistry Group, is behind this first phase of the project set for Green Belt land bordering the M62, Poplars Avenue, Windermere Avenue, and Grasmere Avenue.

This was a reserved matters application the outline planning permission was granted by the Secretary of State in November 2021 for a mixed-use development on the wider 170-acre site.

The Countryside scheme features 405 homes, comprising two-, three- and four-bedroom properties with individual parking spaces.

Once built 171 of these homes will be available for shared ownership and 65 for affordable rent tenure via the housing group, Torus.

The remaining 169 properties will be sold on the open market under Vistry’s Bovis and Linden Homes brands.

A community centre to replace the Radley Common Community Centre features as part of the development that includes three full-size adult football pitches and two junior pitches.

Lichfields, Professional Consult, and Eddisons are featured on the project team.

Would it not be better to do affordable homes to buy rather than shared ownership young and middle aged been renting for so long they just want their house plus people move a lot these days shared ownership bad idea get out into the public and ask what they need build your houses so people can afford a house and get a mortgage which is difficult to get any way with shared housing think of people not the money and spread it around !

I moved out of Runcorn 10 year’s ago because the council didn’t know when enough was enough but Warrington council planning are worse! I’m currently working on the huge home and bargains building and the whole estate is full of birds that used to feed in the area as part of their migration! No consideration by the idiots in planning. Council tax seems to be the be all and end all while the basics like cutting verges seems to have been neglected in Grapenhall where I live.!! Labour!

Another large estate with no shops, new schools or medical facilities included. Typical of councils to only see the money. Not think that schools doctor and dentists are already over subscribed.

And none for social housing which is what is needed. This is a depressing article indeed.

These green spaces are the lungs of our country..we need to be mindful… pollution and global warming is a fact and this development is just adding to that fact !

Is this another joke, building on green belt areas again. So we can house one species, while devastating the homes and feeding ground of hundreds of other species, not to mention the breading grounds of migratory birds.

What a dull-looking place to live. In the middle of nowhere, with nothing around you but more houses and approximately zero green space despite it being “the suburbs”. I get more green space living in the city. Suburbia is a massive scam.

Looks like a few of the rule 6 party have invaded these comments. Funny how these sort of comments don’t pop up on other similar sites.
