Fire risk assessor wins university contract
Manchester University has selected Cheadle Hulme-based Fire & Risk Management Support Services to inspect nearly 200 buildings over the next four years.
The £336,000 contract was awarded following a public tender. The highest losing offer was priced at £487,692 and the lowest at £141,792.
The work entails assessing 76 academic and operational buildings every six months and 108 residential buildings on a 12, 18 and 24 month basis.
The university's own management team manage the fire risk assessments on a daily basis. University fire officers and health and safety officers provide overarching support and guidance linking with safety groups, senior management and maintenance teams.
