Fieldfisher expands real estate team

Claire Hamilton has been appointed to the law firm’s 245-strong Manchester office as a partner, moving from her previous position at TLT.

Hamilton has joined Fieldfisher’s real estate transactional team, bringing the North West office’s headcount to 21.

Before joining TLT in 2019, Hamilton also held positions at Mills & Reeve and JMW, gaining particular expertise in the UK’s build-to-rent and student accommodation sectors throughout her career.

In her new role at Fieldfisher, Hamilton will work closely with the company’s international network to provide real estate advice on a range of matters including transactional, litigation, and construction expertise.

Antony Phillips, head of real estate at Fieldfisher, said: “Claire is a fantastic addition to our team at a time when our real estate practice is bucking the wider slowdown in the market and continues to be extremely busy.

“Claire’s experience and client relationships will further strengthen our capabilities in Manchester, where she will work with our incumbent property transactional specialists to grow the practice and expand the service we offer to clients.”

Hamilton added: “Fieldfisher has made a name for itself in the North West property market and I am thrilled to be joining such an ambitious firm with a clear intention to invest in its real estate practice.”

Hamilton’s appointment follows that of construction partner Jahanara Hussain in July.

The firm operates across 26 offices in 12 countries, employing more than 1,700 people internationally.
