Your Housing Group and Wulvern Housing have started on site at the £3.5m West View development in Underwood Lane.

All of the 34 new homes at West View, which are being built by Kier Construction, will be for affordable rent and are being built on the site of a former nursing home and sheltered housing scheme.

Funding for the West View development includes a grant from the Homes & Communities Agency.

Kathy Cowell, chairman of Your Housing Group, said: "The country is facing a housing shortage and Your Housing Group has an extensive development programme over the next couple of years, trying to tackle some of these issues in the North West. We are very excited to be working alongside Wulvern Housing and Cheshire East Council to bring much needed affordable housing solutions to the area."

The homes are due to complete in March 2015.
