Create hires for health and safety

Create Construction has appointed Claire Oakes from Pochin as its SHE-Q and CSR manager.

Oakes has worked in health and safety in the construction industry for more than 20 years and joined Pochin in 2010. She is the current chairman of the North West Construction Safety Group, a chartered fellow member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health and an executive committee member of the North West Safety Initiative.

Her responsibilities at Create Construction will include overseeing all of the company's sites, as well as the head office at Blackpool and the satellite office in Manchester.

Create Construction provides a specialist construction service in the student accommodation, education and hotel sectors. Clients include British Land, Royal Northern College of Music, Liberty Living and Lancaster University.
