Countryside starts on Kirkby housing

Construction has begun at Highfield Green in Kirkby, where Countryside is delivering 200 three-bedroom houses as the first part of a five-scheme, 583-house partnership with Knowsley Council.

As part of Highfield Green in the Tower Hill area, 30 acres of public open space and recreational facilities will be delivered.

Countryside was appointed as Knowsley Council’s preferred partner after a tender process. The firm’s regional regeneration director Philip Whitehead said: “Knowsley Council has set out a very impressive regeneration strategy for Kirkby, and Highfield Green will play a crucial role in the rejuvenation of Tower Hill, helping to transform the area into a vibrant and welcoming community for years to come.”

Cllr Mike Murphy, cabinet member for regeneration and economic development at Knowsley Council, said: “The partnership with Countryside is helping to deliver our vision of increasing the choice of high quality housing in Knowsley.

“It’s already clear that this will be a first-class development. I’m particularly pleased to see the balance between new housing and open space and I know that this development will prove to be extremely popular.”
