Contract awarded to build new Blackburn school

Blackpool-based contractor F Parkinson has been awarded a £5.7m job to build a new primary school in Blackburn.
The new St Stephen's Church of England Primary School on Philips Road will total 30,000 sq ft and cater for 490 children. The school will combine the current infants and junior schools. The existing junior school will be demolished.
