FCHO agrees £15.7m deal for Fitton Hill homes
The deal will see Vistry Group deliver the next 101 affordable properties as part of a wider 365-home Oldham development.
First Choice Homes Oldham has sold two parcels of land off Rosary Road in Fitton Hill to Vistry Group for £15.7m – the former Fitton Hill Secondary Modern School and another nearby greenfield site.
Planning permission for the development has been in place since 2022 and work on an earlier phase – 178 homes from Sigma and Great Places – is underway and expected to complete at the end of 2027.
“This major new investment by FCHO in affordable properties for Oldham is going to help us deliver the much-needed family homes the area needs,” FCHO’s executive director of corporate services and deputy chief executive Andy Ewart said.
“Crucially they will be located where people want to live, where they are close to transport links and can benefit from existing infrastructure and amenities.”
The scheme will feature a mix of homes and the majority will offer three or four bedrooms. The remaining 37 homes will have two bedrooms.
Homes for social rent, rent to buy and shared ownership will be available across the sites.
