Co-op’s NOMA director quits

David Pringle, director of NOMA, the development of 20 acres of Manchester city centre by the Co-operative Group and Hermes Investment Management, has resigned to set up his own consultancy.

A spokesperson for the Co-op confirmed: “After nearly 17 years, David Pringle has decided to leave the Co-op.”

Pringle is due to leave the Co-op next week.

NOMA will continue to be led by the Co-op’s Alistair Asher and Hermes’ Ben Tolhurst and Ed Sellick.

Prior to his appointment as director of NOMA in 2011, Pringle was director of investment and property at the Co-op.

His tenure overseeing NOMA saw the completion of the 330,000 sq ft headquarters One Angel Square, and the start of refurbishments at Hanover, Dantzic and Federation office buildings. Various parcels of land have been sold for residential development. At Angel Meadow, 600 homes are due to be delivered by Hong Kong-based Far East Consortium. Moda Living and Apache Capital Partners are developing 450 private rented units at Angel Gardens.

New public realm has been created at Sadler’s Yard, and a new transportable pub, The Pilcrow, has recently been built to move around various squares in the estate.

Hermes and Co-op plan to develop 350,000 sq ft of offices in two new buildings next to One Angel Square.

Sadler’s Yard is noisy & polluted from petrol generators in former Co-op building that is now empty. Not nice!

By Fernando

Sorry for any inconvenience – the generator is providing a short term power supply to buildings while we undertake some essential works. Sadler’s Yard should be nice and peaceful again by November!
