Cats Protection centre on site
Globe Construction has started on site with a new Cats Protection Adoption Centre in Padgate, Warrington.
The new 8,600 sq ft single-storey facility is due for completion in the autumn and will provide Cats Protection with a new adoption centre including cattery and administration facilities. The charity will relocate from existing premises in Bank Quay.
Ian Threadgold, director of Globe Construction, said: "As a Warrington-based business we are very pleased to be involved in helping Cats Protection to strengthen its work in our area. The new facility has been in the planning for a while now so it is great to get the development team on site and work underway."
Sonia Scowcroft, Cats Protection's centre manager, added: "The new centre in Padgate will allow us to rehouse hundreds of unwanted cats and kittens in the Warrington area. It will be bigger, more accessible, cheaper to operate and more comfortable for the cats while they are staying with us. We are delighted that construction has begun on site and look forward to moving into our new home later in the year."
The project team includes architect Bowker Sadler, structural engineer Howard Johnston, mechanical and electrical engineer Foreman Roberts and quantity surveyor Tozer & Tozer.
Globe Construction has offices in Warrington and Lancaster, delivering projects valued from £200,000 to £8m across a variety of sectors. Recently completed schemes include Oldham Coliseum, Stonyhurst College and Building 305 at Birchwood Park.
