Capture Manchester competition showing at CUBE
A competition has opened in Manchester's CUBE Gallery showing photographs and illustrations intended to capture an inspiring and contemporary image of the city and identify new creative talent.
Capture Manchester has been launched by law firm DLA Piper in partnership with Centre for the Urban Built Environment, Marketing Manchester and photographer's network Redeye.
The 615 entries will be displayed at the exhibition until 18 April alongside the nine winning images selected by a panel of judges, which was announced on 27 March, and an additional tenth people's choice winner to be chosen by public vote during the exhibition.
Simon Woolley, DLA Piper managing partner, said: "This competition is about encouraging the energy and creativity of those who know Manchester best and using their talents to communicate the exciting reality of life in the city to a wider audience.
All 615 entries will be made available through the sale of postcards, exclusive limited edition signed prints, and a commemorative 84-page Capture Manchester Arts Competition Book.
As well as receiving exposure in this city centre exhibition, the ten winners will each scoop a £500 cash prize.
