Canmoor signs Promat to 63,000 sq ft in Heywood

Promat UK, a supplier of fire protection materials, has signed a 15-year lease on the 63,000 sq ft former Remploy unit at Canmoor's Heywood Distribution Park in Rochdale.

Jon Thorne of B8 Real Estate represented Canmoor. Neil Weaver of Taylor Weaver Chartered Surveyors advised Promat UK. The rental price was not disclosed.

Neil Weaver, director of Taylor Weaver Chartered Surveyors, said: "This was an extremely complicated transaction and both parties negotiated hard to get the best deal. In the end we secured an excellent deal for Promat UK which will allow the business to grow in modern production space and create a number of new job opportunities."

The tenant is due to relocate in the coming weeks from Blackburn and Elland to the new facility which will house both operations. Taylor Weaver has sold Promat UK's current building and two-acre site in Blackburn to developer Prospect Estates, which plans to subdivide the 56,700 sq ft premises into smaller units.
