Bridgestone Construction lands £18m Park House work
Later living housing provider Anchor has selected the contractor to deliver 90 apartments in Waterloo, Sefton.
The site was previously taken up by a Victorian villa that became the Park House nursing home, which closed in 2015 and was near-destroyed by fire in 2022.
The appointment follows a competitive tender through the ICN framework and is the second job Bridgestone has secured via that route, following a contract in Stockport.
The Waterloo scheme will create 90 one- and two-bedroom specialist and affordable homes, comprising 38 independent living apartments, along with 52 extra care apartments supported by communal facilities, a central kitchen and on-site offices.
Anchor’s development will comprise three four- and five-storey structures, two of which will be connected by a single-storey communal area. The wider works will include new incoming services and a substation, landscaping and improvements to the existing pond area, including a level, wheelchair-accessible walkway.
The project has now entered the pre-construction services agreement phase. Bridgestone will work with Anchor, Brewster Bye Architects, Civic and BWA (Europe) to develop the design through RIBA Stage 4.
Bridgestone’s preconstruction, construction compliance and in-house MEP teams will contribute to design coordination, BIM, buildability, value engineering and programme development.

Subject to the successful completion of the PCSA, project approvals and contract agreement, construction is planned to begin in early 2027.
Although the scheme has undergone amendments, the principle of development has been established by the securing of a consent in March 2023 by Anwyl Partnerships, which covered up to 106 apartments.
Bridgestone completed work this summer on the £20m Two Didsbury Point, a project for Manchester housing provider Southway that included 76 homes and a medical centre. The firm’s client roster also includes ForHousing.
