Bidfood plans 192,000 sq ft redevelopment of Salford site
A new 122,000 sq ft distribution facility for the wholesale food supplier and an additional 70,000 sq ft of employment space are planned at the firm’s Langley Road base.
Bidfood, which supplies restaurants, schools, and hospitals and recorded more than £2.3bn in revenue last year, is working up plans to redevelop its 15.5-acre site in the Agecroft area of Salford.
The scheme would see existing industrial buildings demolished to make way for a modern distribution complex for Bidfood featuring a combination of ambient and temperature-controlled warehousing.
Once that element of the project completes, Bidfood’s existing facility to the south of the site would be knocked down to make way for modern industrial space.
The redevelopment is intended to “modernise and intensify the site for employment uses,” according to a planning statement submitted to Salford City Council by Turley, which is advising Bidfood.

Bidfood saw me through lockdown! For which I will be forever grateful. There was much excitement to be had in those times to receive a catering box of crisp or 48 real Cornish pasties! Then try to find somewhere to put them. So I think they still also supply ‘domestic’ and have some really nice stuff!
