Asteer Planning appoints associate partner

Liz McFadyean has joined the Manchester-based planning consultancy to head up the company’s new environmental impact assessment service.

McFadyean brings more than 15 years of experience in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, and large-scale urban regeneration to her new role as associate partner at Asteer.

Previous roles include associate director at Avison Young, a position McFadyean held for more than eight years.

McFadyean was also senior environmental consultant at Parsons Brinckerhoff in 2012 and held the position of environmental consultant at GCS before that.

As head of Asteer’s new environmental impact assessment service, McFadyean will be providing environmental advice to clients, who include Muse, FEC, and Taylor Wimpey.

Jon Suckley, managing partner at Asteer, said: “Liz brings a huge wealth of experience to the team and we are looking forward to providing our clients with specific EIA expertise enabling Asteer to provide comprehensive planning and EIA advice.”

McFadyean added: “I am looking forward to getting involved with the team and helping bring about further growth with our new EIA offering.”

The environmental impact assessment service was launched yesterday to mark Asteer’s second anniversary. The service will offer expert environmental guidance on existing schemes and new stand-alone projects.

Asteer’s team of 11 is active throughout the North West. The consultancy is currently working with Story Homes on two schemes, which would bring 277 homes to Lancaster if approved .
