Argent/Carlyle line up Insolvency Service for Piccadilly

The Insolvency Service is close to agreeing a deal to become the second occupier at Argent and Carlyle's 200,000 sq ft Three Piccadilly Place.

The statutory agency is understood to be in advanced talks to take 25,000 sq ft at the building, following law firm Weightmans to the BREEAM 'excellent' building. The Insolvency Service is currently based in Boulton House, 17-21 Chorlton Street.

Earlier deals with the Government Office for the North West and the Highways Agency were derailed when official auditors urged both to take existing publicly-owned space.

Nevertheless, Three Piccadilly Place is still expected to fill up with Government departments from across the city due to the scheme's eco-friendly credentials and proximity to the main rail station.

The Austin-Smith Lord-designed building marked its practical completion in June, and work is now ongoing with the next office phase, 110,000 sq ft at Four Piccadilly Place.

Joint agents for Argent/Carlyle are GVA Grimley and Savills. King Sturge is advising the Insolvency Service.
