Shape promotes Marshall to director following MBO
The Liverpool-based engineering firm has made Trefor Marshall technical director after a year with the firm.
Shape Consulting Engineers was recently acquired by its managing director Barry Wilson.
Wilson now owns 100% of the business having bought out outgoing directors Ian Ambrose and Christopher Smith
Following the completion of the deal, Marshall has been promoted from senior structural engineer.
He joined the 22-strong firm in January 2025 after 10 years with Curtins in London.
In his new role as technical director, Marshall will provide technical leadership across the practice, strengthening technical governance, embedding best practice, and supporting the company’s continued growth following the management buyout, according to Shape.
Shape works for a range of public, private, and housing association sector clients. It current schemes include Vistry’s £250m Peel Hall development in Warrington, FI Real Estate Management’s 750,000 sq ft extension to Bredbury Industrial Estate, and the £23.5m transformation of Pendleton House in Salford into 112 apartments.
