Secondary mall specialists to address Place event
Paul Wright and Nick Sewell, directors of NewRiver Retail, a property plc with 24 shopping centres in its £440m portfolio, are the latest speakers confirmed for a conference due to be held in Manchester later this month.
NewRiver Retail is a young property REIT with a large portfolio amassed in only four years, specialising in centres in secondary locations that focus on the food and value retail sectors.
The group now has 750 tenants in 2.8m sq ft, across in-town centres in Huddersfield, Norwich, Carmarthen, as well as Albert Square shopping centre in Widnes. NewRiver is the third largest shopping centre owner in the country.
Paul Wright, director of property at NewRiver Retail, is a former director of retail development and asset management at Savills in Manchester, having sold niche practice SY Moorhouse Wright to Savills in 2005. He left Savills in 2010 to set up a new consultancy before joining NewRiver in September 2013.
Nick Sewell, executive director of property at NewRiver Retail, spent five years at Dalgleish, the specialist property consultancy and following its acquisition by CB Richard Ellis in 2005 he spent four years as a director in retail capital markets.
The pair will offer a centre owner's perspective on the retail market and examine the opportunities and challenges facing local shopping centres in today's economic climate.
