Kimberly-Clark picks Colliers for M6 shed search

Healthcare products giant Kimberly-Clark has retained the Manchester office of agents Colliers CRE to find a 350,000 sq ft distribution warehouse along the M6 corridor.

The instruction is welcome news for the regional market, where a glut of large sheds remains vacant. Retailers are increasingly taking advantage of the reduced rents on offer in the recession and developer's desperation to erase costly empty rates from their balance sheets.

Earlier this week Marks & Spencer agreed a deal to take a 380,000 sq ft shed from ProLogis in Stoke-on-Trent.

Kimberly-Clark has facilities in Barrow, Flint, Barton-upon-Humber, Brighton, Northfleet and Reigate.

All parties declined to comment.
